LMB distributes land titles in Taguig
The Land Management Bureau (LMB) distributed a total area of 7,828.80 square meters of alienable and disposable (A & D) lands to 60 beneficiaries of the Handog Titulo Program in four barangays in Taguig.

LMB Director Allan V. Barcena said the distribution of titles is aimed to secure the ownership of the beneficiaries over the land they are occupying
.
“This also means that having the security and peace of mind over their lands the beneficiaries may also use their titles as collaterals for loans for business capital,” Barcena added.

Barcena who spearheaded the distribution of sales patents along with Mayor Ma. Laarni L. Cayetano of Taguig City said the distribution of the patents is one of the residual functions of the LMB involving the disposition of lands situated in the barangays of Signal Village, lower and upper Bicutan and Western Bicutan which was segregated from Fort Bonifacio Military Reservation and declared open for distribution pursuant to Proclamation No. 2476 as amended by Proclamation 172.

“The Handog Titulo Program seeks to bring its services closer to the people”, Atty. Barcena said.

The Handog Titulo Program is being implemented by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) as part of the agency’s contribution to the government’s poverty reduction program. (lmm)
